2008:
DISTRIBUTION and MARKETING in Nigeria
The
registration, censorship and rating of THE ASYLUM nears completion, and
following the successful take-off of the new framework on distribution
and exhibition of movies in Nigeria, THE ASYLUM is ready to hit the
shelves.
The wait in
the release of the movie is necessary regarding our support for the new
framework following the face-off period between the Censor’s Board and
the Film, Video Producers Marketers Association of Nigeria.
With the
resolve of this issue, the new framework kicking in, and the federal
minister awarding distribution and exhibition licenses to authorised
marketing firms, The Asylum is happy finalizing distribution plans in
Nigeria and West Africa.
Watch this
space for the successful marketer! Watch out for the The Asylum DVDs
reaching you soon on!
Montreal Canada - October OCT. 13–23 2005.
The
34th Le Festival du Nouveau Cinema screened 4 Nollywood movies presented
by Professor Onookome Okome, an expert on Nigerian film from the
University of Alberta and Nollywood superstar, Genevieve Nnaji.
Writer, producer and director of the upcoming hit 30 DAYS, Mildred Okwo
delivered a speech in the festival.
Towncrier International represented Nollywood in the festival. (Photos
